Thanks to Rosalie Langley Judd, we have further news on the rebuilding of Pastor José Canipane’s house and church rebuilding following the destruction by forest fires in 2017.
As you will have seen from previous posts, the house has now been rebuilt and the city council will be formally handing it over to Pastor Canipane by the end of September, marking the end of the formal buildings approval process.
Rebuilding work on the church had started and we saw the building of one long wall going on, although at this stage church meetings are still taking place in a large tent pitched on the site. In order for the building work to proceed, due to the building regulations this tent must now be removed and cannot be re-erected there or anywhere else, so once this process starts there is some urgency to see it through to completion.
Rosalie brought back with her a copy of the plans for the new building which you can see below. It’s a simple construction, but one which really is needed, and the building cost is currently estimated at about £10,000.
Chile for Christ has already sent £2000 raised from previous appeals, but we’d like to send more now to help get this project to the finish line.
